From five core engineering branches to a broader academic structure.

2008–2011 / University foundation

DSMNRU is established through ordinance and state legislation.

The founding ordinance was followed by U.P. Act No. 1 of 2009 and U.P. Act No. 24 of 2011.

2016 / Engineering begins

IET is established with five core engineering branches.

Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering form the original engineering disciplines.

2017–2020 / Academic base

Laboratories, workshops, smart classrooms and faculty capacity are strengthened.

Teaching developed towards Outcome-Based Education and later NEP 2020 alignment.

2021 onward / Emerging domains

Computing and interdisciplinary programmes expand.

Programmes expanded into AI, AI & ML and Data Science, followed by honours and M.Tech. pathways.

After 2020 / FoET frame

The Faculty of Engineering & Technology becomes an umbrella structure.

It brings engineering departments together for governance, interdisciplinary collaboration, research and innovation.
